HIS 225 African American History I (3cr.)
A study of the role and contributions of African Americans in the development of the American nation from colonial times through the Reconstruction Era. Offered annually, in the fall semester.
NSC 290 African American Perspectives in Science (3cr.)
Through lectures, research, class discussions, group projects, and other activities, students will explore the contributions African Americans have made to the development of this country across science, technology, medicine, and invention. The course spans the years 1619 to 1999. The changing socio-political and economic climate of the period will also be discussed. Three hours of lecture weekly. No prerequisite. Open to all majors.
REL 235 Religious Trends in African American Communities (3 cr.)
A study of the variety of religious expressions of African Americans in the United States from slavery to the present time.
